With all 18 rounds now played out across all four Divisions we have our 18 Division 1/2 Nominations and our 18 Division 3/4 Nominations for the Trojan Tools – Young Gun 2015.
The award is for the best player Under 21 – at the start of season 2015 who is making an impact on Senior Football. The award is given at Chandler Medal night and recognizes the best Under 21 footballer in Divisions 1 and 2 and the best in Divisions 3 and 4.
Notable past winners of the award include:
Division 1/2: 2008 – Matt Robinson (Rowville), 2009 – Kyle Martin (Noble Park), 2010- Leigh Williams (Norwood) and 2013 – Lachlan Johns (Vermont).
Division 3/4: 2008 – Tom Miles (Waverley Blues), 2012 – Jack Whelan (North Ringwood) and 2013 – Alex Benbow (South Belgrave).
Last years winners have both continued their solid 2014 form:
Jake Hammond – Blackburn: Finished the season with 47 goals from 16 games for the Burners.
Bayley Fritsch – Coldstream: Was picked up by VFL side Casey Scorpions and has managed to play 9 games with the club (6 Development League) including 3 Senior games for 4 goals.
Fritsch is still only 18.
