A statement from the Surrey Park Football Club…

THE Surrey Park Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter ‘Frosty’ Baird as an assistant to senior coach Andrew Toop for the 2014 season.

Peter brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from within the Eastern Football League, having been a member of the EFL Media Team for the past five years.

He played senior football with both the Knox and Koo Wee Rup Football Clubs and is also a past committee member with the Rowville Football Club, having also acted in executive roles as both President and Vice-President.

Senior coach, Andrew Toop, is looking forward to adding Baird to his coaching staff for next season.

‘Peter’s insight into local football will be invaluable to adding to the pathways and progression we have embarked on at the Surrey Park Football Club,’ Toop said.

‘People within the EFL community will no doubt have read Peter’s articles in the Eastern Footballer, seen his knowledge of the competition with features such as ‘Frosty’s Top 50’ and heard his  talent for analysing the game during his role providing special comments on 98.1FM,’ Toop said.

Baird is eagerly looking forward to the new role and wishes to thank the Eastern Football League and in particular, EFL Media Manager, Ben Waterworth for their support over recent years.

‘Whilst I have loved my time in the EFL Media Team, the time is now right to take on a new challenge,’ Baird said.

‘I can’t wait to work with Andrew, his support staff and the playing group at Surrey Park and am really excited about the prospects that lay ahead for the club in 2014.’
