38 DAYS TO GO | Rowville junior president Brendan Sceney spoke to EFL Media ahead of the 2019 season, all thanks to Yarra Valley Water & Choose Tap.

Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2018?

Brendan Sceney: Yes, the Rowville FC is extremely satisfied with how the club finished off last year. A premiership in the under-12s was the icing on the cake. The emergence of our girls’ teams was a huge positive for the season.

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2019?

BS: We hopefully will have 15 teams representing the junior component of the club.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

BS: The feeling around the club is quite positive, registrations has been a touch slow but we are working on rectifying this.

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?

BS: I would have to say our 17s this year will be quite strong.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

BS: We still are desperate for players in all age groups. The girls teams we are bleeding a touch this year. In the 14s and 16s level we are desperate. And still looking for a lot of juniors especially under-8s and 13s boys and we are actively out in the community trying to recruit.

If any players are interested in playing for your club this season, what do they have to do?

BS: Please contact myself, Brendan Sceney, on 0411 055 723 and I will guide them to the right areas.
