South Croydon Junior Football Club president Justin Quinn spoke to EFL Media ahead of season 2018, all thanks to Yarra Valley Water and Choose Tap.

The Dogs will be holding their junior registration day this Sunday, March 4. CLICK HERE for details.

Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2017?

Justin Quinn: At the start of 2017 we were struggling as a club to field quite a few teams. One of those teams, our under 17 boys, finished up playing finals which was a great effort. Off the field saw several changes made late in the season to set us up for 2018 and beyond. At our Auskick level we had record growth with new families coming to our club.

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2018?

JQ: 10 – 11.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

JQ: There has been a new lease of life into our football club with a new committee coming on board. Pre-season training has started, and the kids are all very excited. We have just announced some major sponsorship signings that will set us up for the future. We have also introduced girls football into our club for the very first time.

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?

JQ: Our under-17 boys. This is a strong group of young men playing together from our under-15s and 17s from 2017. Hopefully a good side that can challenge a lot of teams.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

JQ: Under-12 boys, under-12 and 14 girls, under-17 Boys for our second team.

If any players are interested in playing for your club this season, what do they have to do?

JQ: We would love for any new players to come and join our club. You can register by following the link or contact our registrations officer Natalie Cook 0422 119 994 Email: registrations.scjfc@outlook.com.
