The Junior season is now complete with 37 teams winning premierships last weekend in trying conditions. Congratulations to all teams who participated in Grand Finals, our first full season since 2019. Attention now turns to our Senior competitions, where from next weekend there will be Grand Finals taking place every week until our Premier Grand Final on Saturday 17th September. The League would like to thank all the host clubs who will be opening their doors and providing volunteers to support, feed and refresh patrons across the 2022 Senior Finals Series.

This weekend our Bendigo Bank Netball finals commence in Sections 1-4 with Qualifying and Elimination finals taking place on Friday night. In Sections 5-8 week two of finals continues with Grand Final spots on the line for the winners of this Friday’s Preliminary finals. Games will be taking place across two venues in Waverley Netball Centre Jells Park and HE Parker at Heathmont.

In our Deakin Senior Women’s competition its week two of finals with Preliminary Finals taking place this weekend, with the following teams duking it out for a spot in the Grand Final.

In the Eastland Senior Men’s competition, it is the first week of finals for Division One, Two, Three and Four. Finals are an exciting time of the year for the players, spectators, and team officials to be involved in our great game. The League expects the conduct and behaviour of our clubs, players, and spectators to continue throughout the finals series to ensure everyone at the finals has an enjoyable experience in a family friendly environment. There is no place for abuse towards any players, officials, or other spectators at our games.

Gate Entry will be a little different this year with the League going cashless, an important initiative.

If Covid-19 taught us anything it is the need to adapt to new ways of doing things. Simple ‘Tap ‘n’ Go’ facilities will be available (credit and debit cards) along with the ability to pre purchase tickets prior to games.

Good luck to all teams on the weekend and remember to tune into the Eastland Finals match of the round on Eastern FM 98.1 (Saturday) or live on the SEN App on Saturday and Sunday. You may also choose to head to the EFNL Facebook and YouTube pages and watch all of the live streams for the selected women’s and men’s finals matches over the weekend.
