EFNL Under 8 Girls – Information Pack
Welcome to the inaugural EFNL Under 8 Girls competition for 2023.
The league is excited to launch the competition in conjunction with the support of AFL Victoria, to support the continued growth of female football in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Female football is a large part of the EFNL and the Under 8 girls competition aims to bridge the gap between Auskick and the EFNL Under 10 Girls competition. Over the coming years we hope that the Under 8 Girls becomes a fully-fledged 14 game competition.
Competition Dates
- Friday 7th July 2023 – 5pm – 7pm
- Friday 14th July 2023 – 5pm-7pm
- Sunday 23rd July 2023 – 9am -11am
- Friday 28th July 2023 – 5pm -7pm
Venue: All games will be played at Kings Park, Willow Road Upper Ferntree Gully – Upper Ferntree Gully FC.
Eligibility: 1st January, 2015 – 30th April, 2016
Cost: Free – The competition is fully subsidised by the EFNL and AFL Victoria.
Uniforms: Playing jumpers will be loaned by the EFNL. Players can wear their own shorts and socks they are comfortable wearing.
Teams – Once the final registration numbers are in, the EFNL will place participants in a team and then create a 4-week fixture.
Coach – AFL Victoria with the support of Auskick co-ordinators will coach the teams.
Umpires – The EFNL will umpire all games.
Rules:
- The competition will run under the EFNL Mixed Under 8 Rules as follows:
- 9 players per team – allows all girls to be involved and get a kick.
- No Tackling.
- No Scoring.
- No kicking off the ground.
- 10 min Quarter Length.
- No barging/stealing/stripping of the football.
- No bouncing the ball.
