Secretary – Forest Hill Junior Football Club

Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2014?
Our club was lucky to enjoy some real highlights last year including

– Two interleague representatives again in 2014.
– One in Eastern Ranges and up to 4 being looked at by Oakleigh Chargers.

Our coaches were well represented in Coach of The Year Nominations

Our players as a group are showing genuine team adhesion and this can be seen in their milestones: Seven 100 game players in club history before mid-2013; seven more in 2013/14, and a few close to the mark! Current U13 batch will at least match this if they stay together

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2015?

We are looking forward to a continued growth in the Junior Club with a solid grass roots teams coming from Auskick; Under 9’s ; Under 10’s and Under 11’s  we  are also very proud of our seasoned Under 14’s and Under 17’s.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

Around the club the committee are energised and active early to get in place a big year.  Many of our players are associated with the Cricket Club and so we continue to see a lot of each other the whole year through.  We’re very excited.

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?

We won two premierships in 2013, we’ve spent a lot of deliberate effort on our coaching skills and equipment upgrades in 2014.  With some seasoned teams who having playing together for some years, we’re actually very confident ourselves.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

We’d really like to get our numbers up for the Under 11’s.  This has been traditionally a small team for us but we are really focussing on growth this year.

If any players are interested in playing for your club this season, what do they have to do?

Come along to our Registration Day at 6pm on Friday 20th February at our clubrooms next to Nunawading Aqualink (4 Fraser Court).
