NetballEFL finals are upon us for divisions three through to six. While our Premier/Premier Reserve through to Division 2 still have one round left of the home and away season to be played…

 

As always let’s have a look back on Premier/Premier Reserve division, game one saw Wantirna South Devils Reserve get the points as Scoresby had forfeited the match. Woodgate again was a force to be reckoned with in the goal circle with 54 goals in her Wantirna South side’s 62-43 win over Montrose. Fairpark remain to be the benchmark for the division after their win against Lilydale, 51-45, the game saw strong shooting displays from McLellan, Van Dreumel, and for Lilydale, Luiyf. Mulgrave was led by Edwards and Wong in the goal circle setting them up for the win against Norwood, 57-51. Boronia’s Barrie shot 31 goals for game in her side’s win against Blackburn, 43-39.

Division 1 saw a couple of close ones, Kilsyth just got over the line against Knox by one goal while South Croydon defeated Fairpark, 29-27. North Ringwood had a comfortable win against Park Orchards, 45-26, with Black scoring 33 out of their 45. Forest Hill were able to get another win on the board, they defeated Scoresby by eight goals with Abbott shooting 27 for the game. Coldstream made sure of their win against Blackburn by getting over the line by 21 goals.

 

In Division 2, Vermont remain the team to beat after they defeated Ferntree Gully by four goals with Phillips leading the goal circle on 26 goals. Knox are still trying to creep their way into the top four after they defeated Forest Hill by 10 goals. 20 goals to Iedema set up her Kilsyth team to beat Croydon, 27-19. Wantirna Devils comfortably got another win on the board against Park Orchards, 37-19. In a lower scoring game and a very close win it was Lilydale who got over the line against Ringwood by just one goal.

 

Division 3 saw a come-from-behind win for Rowville who beat Norwood by just one goal. Mulgrave again was led by Hoskin in the goal circle in their win against Scoresby, 40-21. Heathmont’s strong first quarter set them up for their four-goal win against Knox. Whitehorse remain in top spot after they defeated Upper Ferntree Gully, 27-23, while Waverley Blues won by default to a forfeiting Kilsyth. Finishing off their last round, Boronia defeated Ringwood, 40-22.

 

In Division 4, Boronia was led by Kemp in the circle who scored 25 of their 31 goals in their huge 20-goal win. Upper Ferntree Gully remained strong throughout the match to defeat Heathmont, 28-23. Lilydale were able to just get over the line against Wantirna South by two goals led by Toomer, Nation and Taylor. North Ringwood got the points as Nunawading had to forfeit. Eastman led her Glen Waverley Hawks to a 34-21 goal win. Ferntree Gully had a steady 30-14 win against Coldstream with goals from Carnell, Mitchell, Hillebrand and Wiseman.

 

Division 5 saw a five-goal win to Heathmont against Mitcham, P. Lesiputty leading the way with 19 goals. Coldstream White secured another win against The Basin, with the goal scoring duo of M. Jakobs and E. Jakobs, 32-24. Norwood came from behind to defeat Wantirna South by three goals. South Croydon defeated Coldstream Black by a comfortable 10 goals while South Belgrave got over the line against Ringwood, 26-15.

 

In Division 6, Knox defeated The Basin by 16 goals led by Sutherland in the goal circle with 21 goals. Another forfeit was had, meaning Mulgrave got the points of Scoresby. An even game from start to finish resulted in a draw between Ferntree Gully and Coldstream, 13 a piece. Nunawading were able to defeat Lilydale, 36-21, while Glen Waverley had a big win against Montrose by 30 goals. Closing out the round was a draw between Norwood and Park Orchards, 27 goals apiece.

 

Looking ahead, for Divisions 3 through to 6 there will be three rounds of finals with week one beginning on Friday night with 1 v 2 and 3 v 4. In Division 3, Boronia will take on Mulgrave and Whitehorse will face Heathmont at Fairhills. In Division 4, Boronia plays Upper Ferntree Gully and Glen Waverley Hawks will play Norwood at Knox Regional. In Division 5, Coldstream White will take on Heathmont and Norwood will play Mitcham at Knox Regional. Division 6 will see Mulgrave play Nunawading and Glen Waverley Hawks face Montrose at Knox Regional. Get down and support our EFL netballers as they leave it all out on the line!
