Last Friday, Michelle Panza and Emily Yates represented the Eastern Football Netball League Tribunal Panel at this year’s IWD luncheon at the Melbourne Town Hall.

The day was an opportunity to hear from leaders and changemakers who are working to reshape the system and remove the barriers so all women and girls can unlock their potential and drive better outcomes for us all.

EFNL Chief Executive Officer Jy Bond acknowledged the importance of the league’s commitment to a strong and inclusive league.

“It was great to have have Michelle and Emily represent the EFNL at this year’s IWD luncheon,” Bond said.

“Their participation reflects EFNL’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowerment for all women and girls,”

“As leaders in our community, we must continue to support initiatives that remove barriers and drive positive change. Events like these remind us of the importance of investing in women’s sports and ensuring equal representation across all platforms.”

Presenters on the day included Sarah Styles, Director for the Office of Women in Sport and Recreation Victoria, Ros Spence, Minister of Community Sport, Rana Hussain, Reconciliation Australia and Div Pillay, CEO and Founder of MindTribes.

Rana Hussain of Reconciliation Australia also chaired the panel to discuss the important messaging of investing in women’s sports, clubs and teams with equal media representation.

EFNL Tribunal Panel member Michelle Panza was excited about the opportunity to represent the league at the event.

“Thanks so much to the EFNL for allowing me this opportunity to learn and network with other AFL football leagues the VAFA and AFL Masters.”
