In Division 1, Blackburn returned to the winners’ list, inflicting Vermont with its second consecutive loss. Bouncing back after last week’s defeat to Rowville, Conca and Hammond starred for the Burners, kicking three majors each. Meanwhile, Rowville recorded an upset 22-point win over Doncaster.

In Division 2, Mooroolbark defeated Wantirna South at Heights Reserve off the back of four goals from Paul Thatcher. The Mustangs led at all changes in their 66-point win. At Domeney Reserve, Upper Ferntree Gully made a statement with a 52-point win over Park Orchards.

Scoresby reaffirmed its premiership credentials in Division 3 on Saturday afternoon, with a 30-point victory over a finals-bound Boronia at Tormore Reserve, with Cal McConnon and Paul Chadwick among the best for the Magpies. Ringwood survived a scare from the Bears upon its return to Jubilee Park, running out six-point winners.

In one of the upsets of the round, Fairpark inflicted a 15-point loss to East Burwood in Division 4, after holding the lead at all changes. Mercer starred for the Lions kicking four goals, while Cowan and Pearce finished among the best. Meanwhile, Silvan won its third consecutive match with an away win over Coldstream. The Cats’ playing-coach Trent Martin finished in the best players for his side, while Wilson booted three majors.
