In an historic day for South Croydon, the Dogs recorded one of the club’s greatest victories in its history, coming from 21 points down midway through the third term to knock Balwyn over by 17 points at Bayswater Oval.

Knox overcame a sluggish start at Tormore Reserve to defeat fellow Division 2 flag-aspirant Doncaster East to the tune of 33 points.

Meanwhile, Park Orchards produced one of the upsets of the year in Division 3, defeating Ringwood by one point. A seven-goal haul from the Redbacks’ Trent Farmer wasn’t enough for the minor premiers, as the Sharks came from behind at the final change, kicking four goals to three in the final term. Nicholas Handley finished with five majors for Park Orchards.
