DRIVEN TO SUCCEED

Choose Tap” Countdown | Warrandyte Football Club

By Dyson Baker

When a side exits finals in straight sets it is seen as nothing more than a wasted opportunity.

When a side has two attempts for promotion and is unable to capitalise that feeling intensifies…

Warrandyte could smell Division 3 football in the final term of the Preliminary Final against Park Orchards.

The Bloods would have been hoping to limit their stay in Division 4 once again to only one season (2006). Alas they find themselves battling, even after winning two games in 18 Rounds of football.

‘CHOOSE TAP’ WATER BOTTLE OFFER

Yes, the Bloods will the rueing the missed chance(s) in September last year but would feel on the other hand they are now a more capable side fitted to making their way back into Division 3.

It’s not all doom and gloom for the Bloods, they unveiled a power forward and a solid midfield that they now know can compete.

Luke Dunn took apart each and every back line in Division 4, only held goalless once last season in Round 11 against the Eastern Lions.

Bags of 10 against Kilsyth and nine against Park Orchards has biggest haul in a season that produced 101 goals and won him the All Trophies Division 4 Goal Kicking Award.

As far as development across the ground, Ross Ansaldi sums it up for the Bloods.

PLAYER REGISTRATION ACTIVATION

Ansaldi was a regular senior player in his first stint was Warrandyte before he jumped the Divisions and took to Lilydale. He played a dozen senior games with the Falcons during their time in Division 1 and 2, experience that held him in good stead on return to Warrandyte.

Ansaldi was one of three players in 2014 to claim the Perc James Medal for the Best and Fairest player in Division 4. The development he has shown over his years away from the club sum up where the club is heading for the future.

New facilities, a new vibe and a crop of new players coming to the club will all make the Bloods hard to beat, especially at home.

Mark Cullen (Silvan) and Ash Froud (Vermont), coming together once more are looking to taste success yet again as they head to Warrandyte.

Alongside them Kane Shore (Silvan), Hamish Hosking (Doncaster) as well as a host of names who will top up their already talented list.

The Bloods start the season with Glen Waverley Hawks away. Their first game at home will be Round 2 vs. Ferntree Gully in a clash that could shape Division 4 early in the season.
