Surrey Park Football Club would like to invite candidates to register their Expression of Interest for the Senior Women’s Coaching position for the 2021 Season and beyond.
The SURREY PARK FOOTBALL CLUB is seeking applications for the position of Senior Women’s Coach (playing or non-playing) for the 2021 season with the vision for a two year appointment, with further options for extensions subject to performance and mutual agreement.
Surrey Park’s emergence on-field in 2019 saw the Club enter its first Finals appearance for some years for the Men’s teams, with the senior team playing finals, the Reserves team winning the premiership and the U19’s ending the season on top of the Division 1 ladder and just missing out on a Grand Final victory by less than a goal.
During 2019 there was significant work done by the junior and senior club to be in a position to field a Senior Women’s team in 2020. But for the COVID pandemic and the cancellation of the season, we were well placed to successfully field a Senior Women’s team (we had a playing group registered and ready to go, many of whom have recommitted to playing in 2021) and we are looking forward to making it a reality in 2021.
This will complete our goal of providing a football path from juniors into senior football for all boys and girls at Surrey Park. To capitalise on this momentum, we are NOW seeking applications for the position of Senior Women’s Coach (playing or non-playing) for the 2021 season.
The successful applicant will be expected to possess the following skills:
▪ Bring specialist coaching knowledge and experience, passion and enthusiasm to coaching and mentoring our current playing list;
▪ Have at a minimum a Level 1 AFL Coaching Accreditation with a desire to continue to learn and update their certification;
▪ Have a commitment to our culture of inclusion – Foster a club-wide sense of TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More);
▪ Passion for coaching/teaching and enthusiasm for mentoring players at all levels within the club;
▪ Key focus on skill development to help drive longer term success;
▪ Experience in and understanding of continuing to successfully develop younger players and integrating them into a senior club program;
▪ Ability to create a culture that drives success through personal accountability (both on and off the field), whilst enabling a fun and enjoyable environment for all players;
▪ Willingness to engage in the ongoing development of the junior program to help ensure ongoing transition of players across to the senior team – The junior club is our lifeline to a successful future;
and
▪ Display a knowledge of SPFC and an understanding of what you bring to the club to help drive long term success.
This is an opportunity for someone to make the Women’s program their own at Surrey Park and build a sustained and successful culture as part of the Surrey Park Football Club.
With the healthy numbers of girls progressing through the junior program at Surrey, along with the enthusiastic group of players already signed up to the senior team, we believe it’s a great opportunity to develop something special from the ground up.
