Balwyn and Blackburn go head-to-head in an EFL final for the sixth time with Blackburn having won three. The Burners won both the home and away meetings and are looking to make their first top-flight grand final since 1975 and only their third-ever. The Tigers will play their seventh grand final in 13 years if they come away with the win.Division 1WinsWinsDrawsStreakDoncaster East8Croydon80DE 1
Doncaster East has a chance to create an unusual piece of EFL history by winning consecutive premierships in the same division other than Premier. As best the SBRD* can determine from the archives: only Scoresby (1962-1965 in then Division 2); Olinda-Ferny Creek (1965-1967 in then Division 3) and Mount Evelyn (1971,1972 in then Division 3) have achieved this – if anyone can tell me why these teams were not promoted I would be pleased to hear).EFL Finals RecordWinsLossesDrawsStreakDoncaster East14130W3Croydon13210W1

Two of the original EFL clubs with a long-standing rivalry, and who ran around together in Division 1 for the majority of the first 35 years of the EFL find themselves in another grand final. They played off for the 1978 Division 1 grand final with Ringwood winning. If last year was the one that got away then what of this year? Or does Mitcham claim an unlikely flag particularly after being down and out in the first semi.
