Well, we say it every year but that season just flew by (reminds me of an older couple I knew years back who completely floored me when they told me: “Well that decade went quickly, didn’t it?”).
Anyway, here we are with the grand final of Premier Division. Can anything top the last few weeks of extra-time finals, a perfect season, a fairy-tale grand final win and last week’s kick after the siren?
It’s the perennial grand finalist versus the wannabes. Can Blackburn do a South Croydon of 2017, and upset Vermont and bring home its first top-flight premiership? The Burners have been here three times before but many years ago, and each time it ended in tears. Vermont is always here, (well, two years of every three). The Eagles’ dominance in finals over the years has been well-documented. An amazing 21st premiership in 59 years is within reach. Blackburn is looking to end a 17-year premiership drought; it has made top-flight finals seven years of the last 12 including the last three in a row.Premier Div.WinsWinsDrawsStreakVermont52Blackburn250V 3
