TIGERS CONTINUE HOODOO

Once again in the stand alone Queens Birthday game the away side has walked away with the points, Balwyn recording a commanding 66 point win in front of a huge crowd at Pat Wright Senior Oval. In a stunning performance Balwyn were dominant in their forward half as the “Fearsome Foursome” of Gobbels, Barker, Goss and Broadhurst combined for 16 of the Tigers 21 goals for the day. Gobbels and Goss both kicked five each and were buoyed by the delivery coming from the Balwyn midefield Ominous signs early for Balwyn as Noble Park recruit Kyle Martin slotted the Bulls first within minutes of the first bounce. Moments later he had two and Balwyn were caught panicking in the back half. Noble Park were dominant in the midfield in the first quarter and lead early before the Balwyn train gained momentum and rolled on in the second half. After quarter time Balwyn managed 30 scoring shots to 11 as they took control on every line. Balwyn now play host to last year’s Premiers Norwood, while Noble Park will be hoping to bounce back as they travel to Lilydale next Saturday.
