THE WHITEHORSE PIONEERS FOOTBALL & NETBALL CLUB, AFFILIATED WITH THE EASTERN FOOTBALL & NETBALL LEAGUE, SEEKS SUITABLE APPLICANTS FOR OUR SENIOR COACHING POSITION FOR SEASON 2023

We are a long-established Club approaching our 70th year that is deeply rooted within the community and draw from that heritage to provide a welcoming environment for men and women to play Australian rules football.

The Club is a mosaic of all abilities but has a focus to success in an inclusive, positive environment that will retain players, encourage new players and create a pathway to those from the Junior program also located at Springfield Park.

With that in mind, the applicants must have excellent communication skills, be professional in behaviours as a figurehead of the Club, have a mature approach to football and be able to establish and maintain a strong game plan and philosophy commensurate with the division level to enable our players to develop, grow and be set challenges.

You must have a strong whole of Club attitude as the Pioneers accommodate Men and Women teams plus work to re-establish U19’s after a short hiatus.

Furthermore, the Club works with and has a close association with the Whitehorse Colts that run a junior program. You will enjoy strong support from a dedicated committee and supporter base within modern facilities at Springfield Park at Box Hill North.

Presently in Division 3 of the EFNL, we have a 2022 win loss ratio that belies our list and know with your input the squad would be a finals participant in 2023.

Working in partnership with the football department and more broadly the Committee, you will embrace the Clubs core values and behaviours and be cognisant of league player payment and player points policies and limitations.

You will be encouraged to recruit through your networks, but the success or otherwise of such will only form an element of the selection matrix.

Having previous and demonstrated senior coaching and or player/coach experience will be a clear advantage when applying for this position.

Applications will be accepted in writing and are to be directed to whitehorsepioneers@efnl.org.au or if you wish to make an initial enquiry, contact Alan Bertacco (president) at 0414 366 827 Applications close Friday 26th August 2022
