NUNA APPOINTS JOINT COACHES

THE Nunawading Football has announced the appointment of Rob Kreskas and Tony Rowe as joint senior coaches for season 2014.

Kreskas joins the club after a stint as the Eastern Lions’ senior coach, while Rowe coached Coldstream’s reserves side in 2013.

Kreskas, a former Southern Football League Division 2 Best & Fairest winner, started his junior football with North Ringwood, also training with the Eastern Rangers development squad. He has had experience with other EFL clubs in Donvale, Mitcham and the Waverley Blues. In the SFL, Kreskas had stints with Tooronga, Malvern and Clayton in the SFL.

Rowe has an extensive coaching career dating back to 1998. He started his coaching in 1998 at Highett, before joining Belgrave Football Club (YVMDFL). In 2005 and 2006, he was appointed senior coach for Syndal Tally Ho Football Club in the VAFA.

In 2009, Tony had a short move to Queensland and coached Surfers Paradise Reserves in the QAFL. Since then, he has returned to Melbourne and coaches Rowville (reserves), Canterbury (seniors) and Coldstream (reserves).

In a statement, Nunawading president Evan Sofianos says the club is confident Kreskas and Rowe are the ‘right fit for the job.’

‘Rob and Tony are enthusiastic about the challenges that lie ahead in 2014 and getting the club back on track,’ Sofianos said.

‘Both have a vast knowledge of all facets of the game, both with playing and coaching experience.’
