If anyone had any doubt that Mooroolbark can win it all this year in division three then they silenced the doubters with a thirty-two-goal victory over Coldstream Black.
Mooroolbark who are sitting firmly on top of the ladder in division three took a big step forward and increased their chances for a division two birth next season after taking down the Second placed side.
More importantly, it was not the fact they did it but how much they did it by. Though it was not as easy a task as what Mooroolbark made it look with their dominating performance. It’s the fact they had to stop two of the best four Goal Scorers this season in Lauren Beaton 145 goals and Tarsha Croker-Denny who has scored 127 goals in 2015.
Although we can not say that the game played against Coldstream Black was simply an all out defensive game, rather it was a combination of attack and defence which Coldstream were unable to match.
Start goal scorer Jordan Kennedy has been fantastic in attach so far this season, managing to score a team high 164 goals so far in 2015. Her attacking game has been crucial to the teams victories and it is evident when you look at Mooroolbark’s statistics this year. Kennedy has single handily scored 164 goals out of her teams 321 goals this season.
To further show her dominance for the team, Heidi Summers is the next highest goal scorer for the side with 53 respectfully. Though the difference between the two is incredible.
Mooroolbark’s next encounter will be no less of a challenge as to what Coldstream Black were last week. They will be lining up against Ringwood White who are currently 3rd on the ladder and have a similar record to Coldstream.
Though with one major difference, Ringwood have had a variety of attackers, which have shared the goal scoring for the side. There best coming from Amy Taufer scoring 48 goals to date.
It is now up to Mooroolbark to stand up again to yet another top side and show the other teams in division three that they are well and truly the best side for 2015.
There is still a long time left of 2015 and anything can happen, but for now its safe to say Ringwood White will have their hands full this coming round.
