The Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL) Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jy Bond as the League’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Bond will commence in the role on Wednesday 1st February 2023

Bond brings to the role a wealth of football and corporate experience having held positions as National Player Development Manager at Professional Footballers Australia working with our Socceroos and Matilda’s National teams, State Talent Manager at AFL Tasmania and Talent Manager at Western Jets. He is currently the Regional Talent Operations Manager at the Oakleigh Chargers, having held this role since November 2018.

A former Scoresby & Balwyn player who spent time with Richmond as a supplementary list player, Jy relocated to the United States from 2009 to 2013 to pursue a professional career in the NFL as a punter with the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants. He holds a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University and comes with extensive experience in sports management and administration.

EFNL Chairman Graham Halbish said the League was thrilled to have someone of Bond’s calibre assume the position as League CEO.

“Jy brings to the role a wealth of football and management expertise including an intimate knowledge of the League,” Halbish said.

“Bond was the standout candidate throughout the CEO recruitment process, and we are delighted to offer him the opportunity to lead the League.”

Bond said he was looking forward to leaving his own mark on the League.

“I thank the Board for the opportunity to assume the role as CEO of the Eastern Football Netball League,” Bond said.

“I look forward to working with the Board, staff, clubs, and all stakeholders associated with the EFNL.

“The EFNL has a strong brand, with great clubs and an exceptionally credible reputation amongst its peers and the larger community. The opportunity to continue to develop, grow and evolve the League is incredibly exciting.”
