JETS SECURE CORDWELL

Heathmont Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Joel Cordwell as its Senior Coach for next season

Joel has held the role of Senior Assistant Coach at Norwood for the last 3 years and was also Coach of their Development Squad in 2015.

Joel’s outstanding football knowledge gained from his playing career at Norwood and Vermont, his coaching philosophy and his focus on player development matched the criteria the Club was looking for in a Senior Coach.

We welcome Joel and Lana to the Heathmont Jets family.

The Club has also been working to strengthen our Football Operations and can now announce the following appointments:

Director of Football: Wayne Judge

Wayne brings a wealth of football experience to the Club, having held Senior Coaching roles and more recently coached the EFL U15 representative team.

In season 2015 Wayne worked with the HJFC Junior Club in his role of Director of Coaching implementing structure and process into the Junior Coaching group

Under 19’s Coach: Gary Burleigh

Gary brings not only years of experience as an EFL player and official to the role but also has valuable AFL experience through various roles at Hawthorn, West Coast, Fremantle and Melbourne. Gary has also had direct involvement with our U17 group over the last 2 years

Player Development: Justin O’ Dwyer

Justin has done a great job mentoring and developing our HJFC Junior Footballers over the last 3 years. He has built a list of over 50 U17 footballers which has laid the foundation for Senior success in the next few years. Previous to his Junior Coaching involvement Justin held Senior Coaching roles at Donvale and Seville.

Joel’s focus with support from the Coaching Group will be to develop and mentor the current playing list and to implement a culture of continuous improvement as the Club strives to achieve its goals in Season 2016 and beyond.

The club would also like to take this opportunity to thank Simon Rourke for his dedication and passion over the last 2 years. Simon is, and always will be welcomed at Heathmont Jets FC.
