IRWIN TO COACH DOCKERS

A statement from the Templestowe Football Club…

WE are very proud to announce that Templestowe’s new senior coach will be Rick Irwin.

Irwin has previously had some dealings with the senior club and was also involved in our pathway program with our junior club, Doncaster Heights.

Some of Irwin’s past roles include:

· Drouin senior coach

· Oakleigh Charges development coach

· Part-time rolls at Richmond and Carlton

Templestowe president Michael Fitzsimons believes Irwin’s appointment will be a huge benefit to players of all levels at the Dockers.

‘Rick has an exceptional footy resume, spanning 24 years in coaching and working in football. He is a very passionate man and brings some great excitement to the club as a whole,’ Fitzsimons says.

‘We are really excited about the appointment of Rick and welcome him and his partner Sim to the Templestowe Football Club.’

Premiership player Anthony ‘Choc’ Muleta will be Irwin’s senior assistant coach.

‘Off the field, we had a very positive result from our AGM and are looking forward to season 2014. We are now finalising our Reserves coaching positions and still welcome applications,’ Fitzsimons said.

The club’s ‘Meet The Coach’ event will be held on Friday 15 November. Training starts at Templestowe Reserve next Monday (18 November).
