INSIDE THE EFL | GOOD FRIDAY FOOTY

By: Troy Swainston – Chief Executive Officer – Eastern Football League

AS we head into the Easter break, whilst many will be heading away for a long weekend, there is a big clash taking place at Balwyn Park.

Balwyn will be playing host to Blackburn this Good Friday, with both teams coming off Round 1 wins and perfect conditions expected.

If you’re not heading away for the weekend, get down there to watch two of the League’s best teams play out what promises to be a great game of football.

In the off season, there have been some changes to the League’s media and digital strategy.  We have successfully launched a much-improved and user-friendly website, created a weekly newsletter, film match-day footage for 14 games per week, generated highlight videos for each game, enhanced photography coverage, broadcast our games via 1377 SEN+ and simulcast on 98.1 and we are writing more content than ever before.

Our highlights videos from Round 1 have had over 40,000 views and the Lilydale v Park Orchards last two-minute video from Round 2 which was posted on Sunday following the game has had an amazing 26,000 views from our socials alone. These videos have reached an audience of over 100,000 people, amazing numbers.

Whilst the removal of the football record has created some challenges for those used to the printed record, we would encourage you to transition across to our website located at efnl.org.au and join the 35,000+ EFL followers using TEAM APP, the official EFL mobile app – footyefl.teamapp.com. Both the website and Team App host all the information and a lot more than what was contained in the footy record including up-to-date team lists.

Simply download Team App via the App Store or Google Play, and search ‘Footy EFL’.

If you are having trouble accessing the above-mentioned sites, please lean on your family members and your tech-savvy children or grandchildren to assist in gaining access over the Easter break ready for Round 3.  Once you familiarise yourself with the websites, you won’t look back.

We wish everyone associated with the League a wonderful and safe Easter break and good luck to both sides playing on Good Friday.  Fingers crossed for another close game decided in the last two minutes.

Listen to this week’s Good Friday clash live on 1377 SEN+, live video stream via EFL.org.au or download the crystal-clear 1116 SEN mobile app. Click here for broadcast details
