#INFOCUS2020 | EAST RINGWOOD JFC

30 DAYS TO GO | East Ringwood junior president Andrew Broadhurst spoke to EFNL Media ahead of the 2020 season, all thanks to Yarra Valley Water & Choose Tap.

Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2019?

Andrew Broadhurst: Extremely satisfied. On-field, our coaches and their support crews were terrific in guiding and teaching the kids throughout the season, doing everything they could to help them improve and have fun and their conduct throughout was fantastic. Three premiership flags at the end was also a nice reward for everyone’s hard work as a club.

Off-field, our committee is cohesive and second to none and all our volunteers deserve all the thanks in the world. 2019 saw a bit of a transition year with a tremendous amount of positive steps forward achieved which will hold us in great stead in the coming seasons.

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2020?

AB: 20 or 21.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

AB: Excitement and anticipation as always as to what the season ahead holds. Overall, a real buzz.

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?

AB: Look, all our teams are up and about and have had their best preseasons ever, so I just look forward to all of them putting their best foot forward on a Sunday and representing ERJFC proudly.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

AB: Only under-18 girls. We have had quite a few girls depart so it will be difficult to make up the numbers there. Otherwise we will field two sides in most age groups and our one team age groups should be pretty healthy.

If any players are interested in playing for your club this season, what do they have to do?

AB: Just visit our website at erjfc.com.au or contact myself, Andrew Broadhurst, president, for any enquiries. Alternatively, to register, head straight to efnl.org.au and follow the prompts.
