30 DAYS TO GO | Donvale junior president Adrian Daniels spoke to EFL Media ahead of the 2019 season, all thanks to Yarra Valley Water & Choose Tap.
Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2018?
Adrian Daniels: Yes, we were very happy with the performances overall in 2018. We had number of our boys and girls sides play in finals, with the under-13 boys, under-17 boys and under-18 girls winning grand finals.
Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2019?
AD: We hope that we will have eight boys’ and four girls’ sides playing in 2019.
What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?
AD: It’s great to see the kids getting excited about the start of the coming season.
If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season, and why?
AD: I would say that our under-15 boys will be very competitive this season and have been training hard. With a new coach and the addition of new players they could be in contention.
Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?
AD: We need a few more players in the under-10s, 11s, 12s, 13s, and under-17 boys at this stage and our under-12s, 14s 16s and 18s need also can do with more players.
If any players are interested in playing for your club this season, what do they have to do?
AD: They can contact myself for the boys sides Adrian Daniels 0419 106 830 or Warren Thomas for the girls sides 0419 645 186.
We are also having our Family Day at Donvale Reserve on the 31st of March where anyone is welcome to come along and meet and talk to us about registering to play.
