#InFocus2019 | CHIRNSIDE PARK JFC

37 DAYS TO GO | Chirnside Park junior president Tracy Cornish spoke to EFL Media ahead of the 2019 season, all thanks to Yarra Valley Water & Choose Tap.

Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2018?

Tracy Cornish: Yes, solid numbers across all teams, great parent and support environment, and we had two grand finals and three finals teams.

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2019?

TC: Nine, depending on junior girls.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

TC: Hard to say. There’s been lots of work going on behind the scenes on admin – things which are exciting – coaching courses, more junior girls teams, and the Target Schools program

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season, and why?

TC: Depending on injury – under-12s were competitive last year against top teams, but lost a lot of close games.

The under-15s and 17s are always competitive.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

TC: The under-9s, 11s,13s, and under-12 girls – all these teams are about 75-80 per cent.

If any players are interested in playing for your club this season, what do they have to do?
