The perfect season!
2016 wont be beaten for the Kings after they claimed an historic Premiership and a Champion season. The shift to Division 2 hasn’t been taken lightly either with the club recruiting well over the off-season but more importantly focusing on the development of their younger players.

What is the club’s ethos/focus in season 2017?
To be competitive in Div 2 and to further develop our playing list primarily based upon homegrown talent. Always striving to grow and using the Motto, “CLUB – TEAM – ME”.
What has the pre-season been like so far for the club, is there any group that has really impressed (younger players, veterans, new recruits etc.)
The new recruits and younger players have added a new excitement to the group after last year’s success, allowing the preseason to be a competitive one, plus the senior core are driving the club forward to ensure sustained growth.
Off the field has there been any change to the structure of the club? And how are you situated heading into the 2017 season?
We have a slightly larger committee which is a big bonus and have a new one Club Chairman – Robyn Lawson. Apart from this the club is in a settled situation.
If you could take one thing you learnt from the 2016 season to improve this year, what would it be?
Winning is fantastic! Seriously to be a successful Club you must achieve a contribution from many various sources all combining together to produce a desired outcome. The teamwork from all aspects of the club both on and off the field. Who are the players who you think will have a break-out season, who may have gone under the radar in the past as far the being known across the EFL community?
There is plenty of Junior talent at our club, with 4 U/19’s playing in our Senior Premiership team. We expect all 4 to continue to mature and improve with more games under their belts. We expect a couple more u/19’s to play Seniors this year to help us improve moving forward as well.
As well as a few senior players who missed out on the grand final team to strive to be better. To single anyone out would be unfair.
Where does the club see itself in 3 years’ time?
To be a strong local club, which has a family focus and is highly regarded within our local community? In some aspects the Division we play isn’t critical to our primary focus to develop and produce home grown talent from our Junior Club. Then top up with specific and targeted recruitment of players that will fit in with our culture and benefit our club. In addition to this we see participation of females playing a significant part of our club in 3 years’ time. Finally, who in your Division do you feel is the greatest threat to your chances of success in 2017 and why?
All clubs have recruited and are expected to improve. I would therefore expect the teams that played finals in 2016 to be very hard to beat and the ones that didn’t to have a hunger to be successful and be better.
