The Doggies have shown the EFL public they are capable of taking big scalps in the past couple of seasons but have been unable to string consistent wins together in order to challenge the upper echelon of Division 1.
South Croydon last played finals in 2013, the clubs only finals appearance in Division 1. They will be looking to build towards finals once again in 2017 having welcomed back to the club Matt Jones who spent six years at AFL level with Melbourne playing 61 games.
Further to this, the club has announced a number of key recruits are making their way to the kennel in 2017. The club is striving to be a major player in Division 1 and hopes finals are in the not too distant future.

Secretary Vince Cali has seen the standard on the track during pre-season lift, a positive sign for a club that is looking to breed success
“Pre-Season has been great this year, we have had good numbers at most sessions with the new recruits pushing the standard for our existing players.”

The Doggies committee remains steady off the field however Cali feels they could always use more hands on deck.
“We are well prepared for the start of the season… like all clubs we could do with extra help and new faces on the committee – those interested can talk to myself or President Cathy White”
While the club is keeping its cards close to its chest a number of rival clubs in Division 1 have made mention of the talent coming into the kennel and feel that 2017 may be the year for South Croydon to strike back into the top 5.
