2017 Leaders

President – Grant Connolly Senior CoachMick Fogarty Senior Captain –  TBC

  1. What is the club’s ethos/focus in season 2017?

We acknowledge the landscape of Local Football has changed with the introduction of the Community Club Sustainability Program so therefore we are committed to embracing the program and setting up us for the future. Our focus is providing a Club that is viable under these conditions and sustainable into the future. We will implement strategies and procedures to be able to meet these guidelines and to ensure we are competitive at all levels for years to come.

  1. What has the pre-season been like so far for the club, is there any group that have really impressed (younger players, veterans, new recruits etc.)

The Pre Season has been, like most Clubs, an interesting period with Players coming and going. Overall we are excited about our list with the influx of new players and the anticipated improvement of our young players.

  1. Off the field has there been any changes to the structure of the club? And how are you situated heading into the 2017 season?

Off field we have been very busy which has included the introduction of new sponsors as well as planning and managing the day to day activities of running a Football Club. This has coincided with a “new look” Committee who are all busy working hard towards achieving our Goals for 2017.

  1. If you could take one thing you learnt from the 2016 season to improve this year, what would it be?

We are always looking at improving things on and off the field. You need to improve each year otherwise you will get left behind very quickly. Getting the edge over other Clubs is getting more difficult as clubs are now more equipped to implement and deliver results.

  1. Who are the players who you think will have a break-out season, who may have gone under the radar in the past as far the being known across the EFL community?

Most Clubs are professional enough to know most of your list even before the Season starts so it is difficult to nominate anyone that other Clubs don’t know about. We are hopeful we have a group of players coming through from our successful Colts side that may impact but it may take to time for this to come to fruition.

  1. Where does the club see itself in 3 years time?

We just want to continue to be sustainable and competitive and to provide a Footy Club that all connected can be proud of.

  1. Finally, who in your Division do you feel is the greatest threat to your chances of success in 2017 and why?

All Clubs have a claim to being successful in 2017. The established successful Clubs will all be thereabouts and there seems to be a lot of excitement around some emerging Clubs. We think this Year could be a very even competition and we look forward to 2017 with much excitement.
