EFNL Netball Umpiring

The Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL) is looking to continue expanding their pool of EFNL Netball umpires ahead of the 2025 Winter season.

With the support of umpire mentors, the league looks to support, guide and develop all umpires, with testing opportunities for suitable C badge and B badge accreditation.

Umpires will be appointed by the umpire manager to matches each Friday night of the competition. Umpires are expected to arrive to their matches at least 15 minutes prior to their appointed match time, wearing EFNL polo and white skirts/shorts.

All umpires are representing the league, and are expected to remain professional both on and off court. Please be professional on court when umpiring (no walking), maintaining a high level of appearance, rapport with all stakeholders including players, spectators, team officials, EFNL staff and fellow umpires. The EFNL is always looking for umpires to join our competition.

If interested in joining, please send an email to the league’s Netball Co-Ordinator Alice Cook, acook@efnl.org.au.

Updating Your Accreditation

All on-court umpires are required to complete a combination of practical umpiring hours and attend professional development opportunities over a four-year period in order to maintain their badge accreditation. This includes all levels, C, B, A or AA accreditation. This ensures all umpires continue to improve their knowledge, skills and competencies once they’ve successfully attained a badge accreditation, which maintains the overall high standard of netball umpires.

All umpire badge accreditations are valid for 4 years. All umpire badge accreditation updating is completed through Netball Learning and should be updated within 6 months of expiry to ensure completion in a timely manner.

Netball Learning will send email reminders in the lead up to the expiration date.
