EFL SOCIAL MEDIA LADDER

Four years ago our clubs were asked to come with us out of the dark ages and to embrace social media as a way for their fans to access information.

Initially clubs were asked to set up Twitter accounts to help with the updating of live scores during the season, from their we now have clubs not only running their pages during the season but off-season as well.

Twitter and Facebook accounts have become the way forward for a lot of clubs in the east who embrace the social media revolution as a way of engaging with not only players and members but the general public.

Question is, who leads the way on social media in the EFL?

With over 850 followers on Twitter and more than 1300 on Facebook the Panthers account for 4.48% of the total likes/follows of all our clubs.

Just behind them Division 1 rivals Noble Park who with 852 followers and 1250 likes sit in second place. In third the Coldstream Football Club who have a huge following on Facebook with more than 1650 likes!

Some clubs have dedicated their resources to one medium over the other thus it would be remise not to break it down by individual platforms.

Over the past 3-4 years clubs have taken it upon themselves to push promotions through these mediums to the point where they are now reaching more and more people than ever before.

From a league perspective we are still proud to be Number 1 in Metro Melbourne for total social Media reach – keeping over 15,000 people informed on a day-to-day basis.
