EFL MARKS SOCKIT2MND ROUND

The Eastern Football League is proud to again be supporting the Sockit2MND awareness round for Fight MND this weekend.

FightMND is Australia’s leading independent motor neurone disease (MND) organisation. We are fighting to find effective treatments and a cure for motor neurone disease, or as founder Neale Daniher calls it ‘The Beast.’

MND is a ‘Beast’ that takes people, the lives of two Australians every day. It also takes people to fight it, and through initiatives such as the Big Freeze and now Sockit2MND, your support will allow us to continue the funding of critical research for MND through clinical trials, to allow researchers to develop ways to slow or prevent the progression of the disease and, ultimately, find a cure.

What is MND?

Motor neurone disease (MND) is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells – neurones – controlling the muscles that enable us to move, speak, breathe and swallow; undergo degeneration and die.

The Eastern Football League congratulates its clubs on their support for Sockit2MND Round, with the EFL and clubs collectively purchasing the most socks of any league participating, raising over $20,000.
