Eastland Volunteer of the Week | Peter Clay

Behind every sporting club and league, there’s a great amount of volunteers who give up their hours of their week all for the love of the game.

The Eastern Football Netball League and Eastland would like to thank some of the hard-working members in the community by recognising them through the Volunteer of the Week award.

Peter Clay from the Surrey Park Football Club has been nominated as this week’s winner of the Eastland Volunteer of the week award.

He is a General Committee Member at the club and has been officially on the committee for three years.

Each week, during training nights, Clay can be seen preparing and serving player meals, and topping up drinks fridges, along with managing playing equipment.

He plays a massive role behind the scenes every match day at home.

Some of the roles you’ll find him in, is running the barbeque, escorting umpires, supporting players and coaches and everything else in between that’s required to make sure their home games are a success.

Clay’s history with the club goes back many years and is a fantastic candidate for the Eastland Volunteer of the Week.

Thanks to Eastland, Peter Clay has been awarded with a 50 dollar Eastland Town Square Gift Card.
