Blackburn survived a late scare from Doncaster in Premier Division, holding on to record a five-point victory while Norwood comfortably accounted for Rowville and Vermont defeated Noble Park.
In Division 1, East Ringwood upset Croydon with a 30-point win, led by Belo with four majors. Meanwhile, ladder-leader Doncaster East registered a 28-point win over third-placed Bayswater, off the back of five goals to Summers.
In the second week of the Division 2 split round, Templestowe overcame a gallant Mulgrave outfit, running out 11-point winners in a see-sawing final term as The Basin proved too strong for Scoresby.
Division 3 action saw the Waverley Blues overcome a five-point three-quarter time deficit to topple an inaccurate Whitehorse Pioneers, after the Blues piled on four goals to one in the final term. Ladder-leader South Belgrave enjoyed a comprehensive win over finals-fancy Warrandyte, defeating the Bloods by 62 points.
In Division 4, Coldstream handed East Burwood its first loss of season 2019, ending the Rams’ run of 11-consecutive victories with a 22-point win. Faulkner, McKenzie and Batten-Leitch all finished with two majors for the Cougars. Meanwhile, Silvan defeated Forest Hill by 71 points after just seven points separated the pair at the first change. The Cats’ comprehensive victory was set up in the second term, registering three goals to none, before a blitz of 12 goals to five after half-time.
