Vermont has produced a stunning display to down Norwood by 64 points at Vermont Recreation Reserve. Eagles captain Lachie Johns finished with three majors while McComb, Mullett and Ross were among the best for the reigning premiers. Meanwhile, Balwyn defeated South Croydon by 25 points at Cheong Park, with Freeman finishing with three goals for the Tigers.
Division 1 saw Wantirna South defeat Knox by 18 points to claim the Knox Club Cup, led by Tim Lee with four goals, while Bayswater has come from behind to defeat East Ringwood by three points after trailing at three quarter time. In the 2018 grand final rematch, Lilydale reigned supreme with a thrilling seven-point victory over Doncaster East.
The Basin exacted revenge on Heathmont at HE Parker Reserve, defeating the Jets by 22 points after the teams last met in the elimination final in 2018. Brown, Mills, Lynch and Edwards each finished with two goals while Young led the charge for Heathmont, finishing with three. Templestowe recorded a 31-point victory over 2018 grand finalist Ringwood, off the back of five goals to Daniel Cripps.
In Division 3, Warrandyte ran out 11-point winners over the Glen Waverley Hawks after a tight contest all day, while the Whitehorse Pioneers recorded a comprehensive victory over Chirnside Park to the tune of 86 points.
The drought is finally over. Nunawading has recorded its first victory since the 2015 season, snapping a 62-game losing streak with a stirring 32 point win over Kilsyth. Schulz booted eight majors for the Lions as they controlled the contest at all changes.
