In the top-tier grand final rematch, it was Vermont with a 59-point win over South Croydon. The victory was set up in the second term when the Eagles piled on nine goals to none to head into half-time with a 52-point buffer. Brett Eddy led the charge for Vermont up forward, booting 10-straight majors.

In Division 1, Mooroolbark recorded an upset 11-point victory over Park Orchards. The Mustangs raced out of the blocks early with three goals to none in the opening term, before the Sharks hit back to take the lead by three points at the main break. The sides rallied in the third with Mooroolbark gaining the ascendancy at the final change to lead by seven points, before two goals to one in the final term sealed the win. Aaron Mullet finished with five goals for the Mustangs, while Polkinghorne booted two.

Division 2 action saw Templestowe hand Mitcham its second-straight defeat, recording a 12-point win. After trailing by 13 points at quarter time, the Dockers took control thereafter to lead at all changes. Arangio finished with five majors for the Dockers, while Parente kicked three for the Tigers.

South Belgrave continued its unbeaten run in Division 3, accounting for Warrandyte by 57 points. Led by Leigh Odermatt up forward with six goals, the Saints were in control at all changes, including a seven-goal-to-one third term. Meanwhile, Donvale enjoyed a 45-point victory over the Glen Waverley Hawks, as Nick Murphy booted three goals.

In Division 4, Nunawading recorded its second victory of the season, outlasting Croydon North-MLOC in a thriller to record a three-point victory. The Lions rallied with a fast-finishing Croydon North-MLOC outfit in the final term, who charged home with five goals to three. Schulz presented up forward for the Lions with a bag of six goals, while Hampton finished with three for Croydon North-MLOC. Meanwhile, Fairpark and East Burwood kept their unblemished records intact with comprehensive victories over Coldstream and Silvan respectively.
