In Premier Division, Balwyn survived a scare from South Croydon at Cherry Road with the Tigers holding off a gallant Bulldogs outfit by four points in Jeff Gobbels’ 150th match. Meanwhile, Noble Park defeated Doncaster by just six points at Schramms Reserve, led by Marson with three majors, as Annakis registered three for the Sharks.
Park Orchards played out a thriller with Upper Ferntree Gully in Division 1, with the Sharks recording a three-point victory off the back of two goals apiece to Jacotine and Feher, as Croydon held off Mooroolbark by 17 points.
In Division 2, Mitcham defeated Heathmont by 12 points at H.E Parker Reserve, led by Hallo with two goals, with William Gordon adjudged the Eastland Player of the Day for a dominant ruck performance. Meanwhile, Boronia defeated Templestowe by 14 points.
Division 3 action saw the Whitehorse Pioneers account for Warrandyte by 19 points after leading at all changes, ably-assisted by Kumurdian with three goals and Sim with two.
Just four points was the difference between East Burwood and Forest Hill in Division 4, with the Rams remaining undefeated atop the Division 4 ladder. At Pinks Reserve, Kilsyth recorded its second win of the season defeating Nunawading by 60 points, led by Muller with five goals and Soligo with four.
