The Eastern Football Netball League Eastland Premier Division fixture has been released for season 2021 as an 11 Team, 18 Round competition.
Last season’s runners up Blackburn will kickstart the season with a Good Friday clash (April 2nd) against Balwyn from Morton Park, two weeks before the rest of competition take the field.
Two clubs anxious for Round One will be Doncaster East and Berwick who are both set to make their Premier Division debut.
The Lions have patiently waited for their chance to take on the League’s top tier having won back to back premierships in Division One (nee Division Two) and will no doubt savour the moment when they host Blackburn in Round One and unfurl their 2019 premiership flag.
Meanwhile the Wickers have made their way into the Division via a transfer from the AFL Outer East and will make both their Premier Division and League debut when they host Noble Park at Edwin Flack Reserve.
The remaining Round One fixtures (April 17th) see Vermont host Balwyn, South Croydon welcome Doncaster and Norwood travel down the road to play North Ringwood whilst Rowville have the bye. The Hawks will start their season on April 24 when they host Berwick.
Blackburn will host another standalone fixture during Round Two when they take on South Croydon in an Anzac Day clash.
Other marquee fixtures in 2021 (at time of writing) are the Queen’s Birthday Weekend clashes between Balwyn and Noble Park at Balwyn Park (taken from the Round Nine matchday) and Doncaster and Doncaster East at Schramms Reserve (taken from the Round 10 matchday).
There will be two 2019 Grand Final re-matches, with Vermont hosting Blackburn in Round 10 and the Burners welcoming the Eagles in Round 16.
It should also be noted that South Croydon are expecting works during the middle of the season.
The Premier Division Finals Series will begin on the 28th of August, with the Grand Final played on the 18th of September.
