COVID-19 UPDATE – May 26

The Eastern Football Netball League will continue to be guided by Victorian Government and the DHHS and in turn AFL Victoria in regard to community sport this weekend, following the new Covid-19 cluster.

Currently, all fixtured games will be going ahead as planned; however, we are also planning for the potential of a snap lockdown.

The EFNL community will be first to know if anything is to change regarding games and training.

Below is an amended training protocols list provided by AFL Victoria on the 25th of May, all clubs should implement this immediately.

  1. Masks indoors are mandatory for all within the Greater Melbourne area

  2. All players/officials travelling to Regional Victoria who reside in Greater Melbourne area are to take the restrictions currently applicable for Greater Melbourne with them

  3. Public gathering limits are no more than 30 people – please use the get in and get out approach for any training this evening planned.

  4. Please limit the access to social rooms and change rooms in line with the current guidelines and ensure essential staff only.

  5. We would recommend that anyone attending training come dressed and ready to play/train and then get out.

  6. Only essential staff to be in attendance for example, coaches, officials and trainers.

  7. For junior football, please ensure parents do not gather beyond groups of 30 and use the approach of drop off and pick up.

  8. Social distancing is to be maintained at all times when not participating.

  9. QR codes are mandatory and need to be used for all in attendance at the relevant venues

The current list of coronavirus exposure sites can be found here and we urge everyone to adhere to the guidelines provided around isolation and testing for each specific tier to keep the greater community safe and see community sport continue on in 2021.
