Heathmont’s Joel Cordwell has informed the club that he will not seek re-appointment as senior coach for next season.
Official Heathmont Football Club statement below:
The Heathmont Football Club advises that Joel Cordwell has recently informed the Club of his decision to not seek re-appointment as Senior Coach for next year, as he looks to pursue other opportunities in 2019 and beyond.
Joel’s professionalism, enthusiasm and knowledge over the past three seasons as Senior Coach have been outstanding. He leaves with a very impressive win/loss record and after taking the club to successive finals appearances in each of his three seasons at the helm, including the 2017 Division 3 grand final.
His passion and commitment to driving improvement has seen him position our club very favourably for the future, with an exciting list of young and up-coming players having been given the opportunity to develop as senior footballers.
The Heathmont Football Club thanks Joel for his contribution and service and wishes him (and his family) the sincerest best wishes in his future endeavours.
The Club will now actively seek a suitably qualified replacement to guide and further develop our talented crop of young and experienced players into next year and beyond. It is a very exciting time to join our club with our current list of players and the emergence of talent coming through from our junior system and under-19 ranks.
With the recent upgrade to our ground and the impending club-room rebuild and installation of new state-of-the-art lighting on the main ground, both of which should be completed during 2019, the future at the Heathmont Football Club is very positive.
Applications for and enquiries about the role of Senior Coach for the 2019 season should be directed to the Club’s Director of Football, Wayne Judge.
A position description and selection criteria are available on request.
