Another massive Friday of netball action, which saw a number of teams grab their first win or their first loss.
Premier Division
Knox 58 d Heathmont 31
Knox had a big night against Heathmont last Friday, ending up with 58 goals for the match as they defeated the Jets by a final margin of 27 goals. Ella Morse was huge for the Knox side, contributing 34 goals in a remarkable display of attacking nous.

Division One
Ferntree Gully 40 d Kilsyth 23
Ferntree Gully dispatched Kilsyth last Friday night in a very strong display from the Eagles. The margin consistently grew quarter on quarter, with the Cougars just unable to make significant inroads into the Eagles lead. Mikayla McNamara was brilliant in her first match of the season, scoring 25 goals as Ferntree Gully flexed their muscles.

Mulgrave 29 d Scoresby 23
Mulgrave scored a big come-from-behind win against Scoresby last week. Down 19-15 heading into the final quarter, the Lions ran over the top of the Magpies in the final period, scoring 14 goals to Scoresby’s four, running out the last quarter with the fresher legs.

It was a dominant display for Warrandyte as they dominated proceedings last Friday. A scintillating 13-0 first quarter set the tone of the match, as the Swans never looked in doubt of capturing the two points. Halle Hupfeld was huge, scoring 31 goals in a season-high performance from her as the Swans sit undefeated on top of the Division Three ladder.

Chirnside Park enjoyed a very comfortable win over Scoresby last round. A relatively close game during the first quarter became a one-sided affair as Chirnside peeled off a 16-0 second quarter, putting the game beyond doubt.
Tracy Cornish had an outstanding game, with 23 goals, and was ably supported by Anna Grigg with 14 goals of her own in an impressive outing from the Panthers.

A see-sawing affair between East Ringwood and South Belgrave ended in the Roos favour, as they ran out eventual 2-goal victors. The sides exchanged leads in the first half, with scores level heading into the third, before East Ringwood were able to outlast their opponents in an enthralling game of Division Five netball.

Heathmont 26 drew South Belgrave 26
Heathmont trailed by nine goals at half time of their battle with South Belgrave last week, and only managed to narrow the margin to eight by the three quarter time. However, a 10 goal to two final term allowed the Jets to find a way to split the points and left the Saints wondering where it all went wrong.

A nail-biter between these two sides ended with The Basin managing to eek out a win by the slimmest of margins. The scoring duties were evenly shared between Kate Watson and Elly Turcinovic who had 12 goals each for the Bears, as the side came from three goals back entering the 4th quarter to get the win in a crucial victory for the impressive Bears.
