Premier Division

Heathmont 38 d East Burwood 37

Heathmont scored an incredible come-from-behind win last weekend against East Burwood. After falling behind 15-4 during the first quarter, the Jets put together a huge second quarter, outscoring the Rams 14-2 to take the lead heading into the second half. They even managed to stretch the lead to 5 goals before the final quarter, and eventually hold off a second wind from the Rams to run out 1-goal winners.

It was very difficult to separate these two sides last round, with scores level at half-time at 12-all and again at three-quarter time at 18-all. Ultimately, it was the Magpies who were able to edge in front by the final siren, as they won by a solitary goal, off the back of brilliant work from potent shooter Jessica Ford who shot 19.

Coldstream were victorious in a nail-biter over Heathmont in Division Three last weekend. The side led at every break; however, they could never quite gain enough separation from the Jets to win comfortably. The duo of Samantha Murty and Tarsha Collette shared the scoring duties evenly, scoring 14 and 13 goals respectively in a solid team performance.

It was a scrappy affair over at Fairhills as neither side was able to gain any kind of sizeable buffer for the match. Knox led at every term, but ended up victors by just 2 goals. League leading goal shooter Kellie Phillips had a remarkable performance, scoring all of her teams 18 goals, but it wasn’t enough to get her side over the line.
