Ahead of another weekend of the Bendigo Bank Netball season, we take a quick look at last week’s results from Round Two.
Division One

The two East Burwood Division One teams played off against each other on Friday Night at Waverley. After a tight first-half, there was only one point in it before East Burwood Black outscored the East Burwood Rams team by 20 points in the second half to win by 21 points. East Burwood Black’s Tweedale and Corless combined for 56 while Hamilton had 35 goals for the Rams.
Maddison Elder had a big night out for Vermont Eagles Gold, scoring 39 goals in Vermont’s first win for the season, defeating Bayswater by 38 points. She wasn’t the only big scorer in the round, Genevieve Abbott finished with another 40 goals in Croydon’s 28 point win over Knox, remaining on top of the leading goal shooters for the division.

A phenomenal performance from Chloe North-Coombes saw the Vermont star put on a clinic, scoring 43 goals in the Vermont Yellow win over Heathmont.
Oakleigh District, East Ringwood and Coldstream all made it two from two, winning in close games. Oakleigh sit on top of the ladder with a strong percentage of 157%. This week, they weren’t quite able to score just as strong as they did the week prior but they led at every change against Kilsyth, to come away five-point winners.

Kilsyth Cougars Black 21 def by. Boronia Gold 39
Boronia won their second straight win, defeating Kilsyth by 18 points after a dominant first three quarters that saw the Hawks up by 20 at the last break. Smith continued her impressive start to the season with 31 goals on the night. Both The Basin and Nunawading also remain undefeated with wins against East Burwood and Lilydale. This Friday Night will see the local rivals of Boronia and The Basin face off against each other at Knox Regional Netball Court.
Division Four

Our biggest division still has five teams who are yet to be defeated. It sets up some intriguing match up’s this Friday Night with Heathmont and Kilsyth set to meet, both sitting on top of the ladder.
Heathmont White kept their Montrose opponents to just two points in the first quarter while Paige Hunter continued her impressive form, another 24 goals to add to the tally.
South Croydon’s Brenda Lay was awarded with the Bevilles Eastland Best on Court award last weekend. Lay was fantastic in the midcourt, playing both Centre and Wing Defence. Her speed troubled her opposition, playing an important role with transitioning the ball forwards.

One of the closest set of results last weekend came from the Division Six games, played at both Oxley and Waverley. Four of the five games were decided by four points or less.
Vermont Eagles Black remain on top of the ladder after their three-point win over the Waverley Blues White team. Apart from the first quarter where Vermont took a lead into the first break, there wasn’t much to separate either side. Glen Waverley trailed by three points at the last change of their match against East Ringwood but an 8-3 last quarter saw them complete the comeback. Tianah Shane and Bridget Mudge combined for 27 goals for the Hawks.
