Bendigo Bank Netball Recap | Round Eleven

After a weekend off, our netballers are back on the courts tomorrow night. Take a look at the Round Ten results ahead of tomorrow night’s action on the courts.

Division One

  1. FTG Eagles Blue 30 lost to East Burwood Rams 52

  2. Coldstream Grey 44 lost to Croydon 74

  3. East Ringwood Black 61 def Vermont Eagles Gold 42

  4. East Burwood Black 68 def Lilydale Falcons 34

Two big wins for East Ringwood Black and East Burwood Black make sure they set the pace at the top of the table. Croydon also got back on the winners list while Vermont and Coldstream both lost to leave the last place in the finals race wide open with East Burwood Rams keeping their season alive.

Division Two

The bookends of the ladder had contrasting nights in round 11, Bayswater gold recorded their first win of the season with an inspiring victory over Vermont Eagles while Coldstream dropped their first game against Croydon North MLOC in a close one.  The top four race is hotting up with Knox getting a win against Blackburn and moving into third place and East Ringwood consolidate fourth after their 14 goal win to Heathmont.

Division Three

  2. Vermont Eagles White 26 lost to Heathmont White 36

  3. Chirnside Park Panthers Yellow 34 lost to Lilydale Gold 56

  4. Heathmont Yellow 34 def The Basin Cubs 29

  5. Montrose Demons 25 lost to Nunawading Lions Gold 28

  6. East Burwood Grey 22 def Vermont Eagles Violet 20

Heathmont White are in cruise control at the moment recording another comfortable win against Vermont, pulling away from second place after The Basin went down to Heathmont Yellow who move into fifth place. The Basin’s win against Boronia was probably an eight-point game as they occupy sixth and seventh still in the finals race.

Division Four

A new leader emerges in division four as Vermont Eagles lost to Oakleigh Districts paving the way for the Montrose Flames. East Ringwood Teal no longer occupy 10th as they leapfrogged Silvan after defeating Kilsyth Cougars who had the opportunity to take top sport but now drop to third.

Division Five

  1. Chirnside Park Panthers Grey 29 lost to Boronia Hawks 35

  2. Whitehorse Pioneers 24 def East Burwood Silver 17

  3. Coldstream White 14 lost to Balwyn Tigers 48

  4. Silvan Cats Blue 36 def South Croydon Blue 21

  5. Park Orchards Red 34 lost to Vermont Eagles Lilac 38

Park Orchards have lost fourth spot with a loss to the Vermont Eagles and Boronia grabbed the spot with both hands, defeating Chirnside Park by six goals. East Burwood Silver pushed Whitehorse all the way but couldn’t get their first win of the season and the Balwyn Tigers announce themselves with a big win over Coldstream.

GWH Yellow remain in second position but will look for the opportunity to jump Chirnside Park with their game in hand. East Ringwood White’s loss means they’re vulnerable inside the top four with Bayswater and several others breathing down their neck.

Division Seven

Waverly Blues remain undefeated in division seven. The Montrose Devils went agonisingly close to getting their second win of the season going down to Kilsyth by 1 goal. Heathmont’s important win over Norwood keeps them in finals contention and could prove crucial in the run home.

Division Eight

  2. Croydon North MLOC Blue 25 lost to South Belgrave Saints 36

  3. Nunawading Lions Black 34 def Ringwood Red 4

  4. Montrose Storm 29 lost to The Basin Grizzlies 31

Ringwood Red’s season continues to be a slog, just scoring the four goals against fourth place Nunawading. Montrose Storm pushed the front runners all the way with a 2 goal loss to The Basin. South Belgrave continue to keep pace taking an important win against Croydon North MLOC.

Division Nine

  1. Coldstream Green 18 lost to Bayswater Green 19

  2. Montrose Raptors 28 lost to Montrose Heat 32

  3. East Burwood White 4 lost to Norwood Gold 29

  4. Nunawading Lions Maroon 16 lost to Chirnside Park Panthers Black 17

Coldstream Green go down in a thriller to Bayswater Green. Norwood Gold continue their dominant season with a 25-goal win to East Burwood White. Nunawading and Chirnside played the best match of the round with a one goal epic in a top four battle.
