2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Premier Division

Top placed Wantirna South Devils secured an 11 goal win over the third placed Lilydale Falcons in what was a hard fought contest 53-42. Wantirna South played consistent netball after a scare in the first quarter where Lilydale led by two goals at quarter time. The remaining three quarters were won by Wantirna South and they eventually ran out 11 point victors.

Meanwhile, Heathmont Jets thrashed Blackburn Red 39-25, thanks to Jessica Black scoring 24 goals. The scores were tied at quarter time at 9-9, but from the second quarter onwards Heathmont Jets took their game up a notch piling on the goals to become 14 goal winners.

East Burwood Black did enough to get over the line 37-32 in a tight match against South Croydon Red. The win was steered by Sarah Mulqueen who scored 20 goals. East Burwood led by only a point heading into the final quarter. The Black led at every change and in the last term, they outscored South Croydon Red 10 goals to six to secure the narrow five goal victory.

2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Division 1

Nothing could separate Montrose Demons and Ferntree Gully in the end, as they played out a thrilling draw at 43-43. Montrose led at every change with Jessica Ellwood leading from the front with 19 goals. Among the best for Ferntree Gully were Casey Morgan (25 goals) and Alyssa Moxham (18 goals).

Coldstream Grey won by forfeit over North Ringwood Black.

Kilsyth Cougars held their nerve over Knox leading at every change recording a seven goal win 32-25. Cougars forward duo Alanna Lennie (17 goals) and Marie Hansen (15) proved a handful for the Knox defenders.

2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Division 2

Blackburn Black outclassed fast finishing Norwood Purple 38-23. Kristina Fan starred with 28 goals and the Black held a 19 goal lead that was too huge for Norwood Purple to overcome in the final quarter. The Black eventually ran out 15 point victors.

Lilydale Gold were nine goal winners defeating Knox Black 30-21. Rhiannon McNay (25 goals) caused headaches for the Knox Black defense.

In a tight match, Park Orchards Red get up by two goals 25-23 over Kilsyth Cougars Red. Park Orchards led at every break, courtesy of Emmerson Buckland (13 goals).

North Ringwood Red held onto defeat Whitehorse Maroon 25-20. Whitehorse Maroon kept in touch with North Ringwood Red in the first three quarters and were on the verge of causing an upset outscoring North Ringwood Red six goal to four. Fortunately for North Ringwood they were able to get the five goal victory.

Scoresby Shooters cruised to a 42-26 win over The Basin Red, courtesy of a standout performance up forward from Jessica Ford (36 goals) who ensured they were 16 goal winners.

Mulgrave Red made light work of Ferntree Gully in a 47-15 victory. Ferntree Gully’s defense had their hands full with Jessica Hoskin contributing (37 goals) in her sides 32 goal win.

2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Division 3

East Burwood Grey proved too strong winning by nine goals against Chirnside Panthers. It was a five goal lead to East Burwood at every change and it was any teams match to win heading into the final quarter. East Burwood showed their intent from the start in the last term scoring nine goals to the Panthers five. The goal scoring for East Burwood was led by Sacha Hammond (26 goals).

Ferntree Gully Eagles defeated Ringwood Red narrowly 26-21. They flew out of the blocks in the opening quarter with a nine goals to two, but Ringwood Red bridged the gap on the scoreboard with an impressive third term scoring seven goals to four. Ringwood Red went into the final term with belief they could topple the fourth placed Eagles if their momentum continued. Unfortunately, the Eagles piled on eight goals with the help of Sarah Graffen (16 goals) to Ringwood Red’s five to register the five goal victory.

Heathmont White narrowly push past Forest Hill White 23-19. The win was steered by forward contributions from Jessica Hall (12 goals) and Kaitlin O’Connor (7 goals). Nothing separated the two sides on the scoreboard at quarter time at 4-4, but Heathmont White gained an edge on the scoreboard at every change after eventually running out victorious by four goals.

Glen Waverley Blue defeated South Croydon White by a huge 12 goals, 40-28. South Croydon White’s defenders could not stop the dominance from Glen Waverley Blue forwards Erin Anderson (21 goals) and Paige Rondinella (19 goals).

Rowville secured a hard fought win over Whitehorse White 30-26. The match had lots of ebbs and flows with two points or less separating the two side through the first three quarters. Whitehorse White were confident heading into the final quarter, as they gained ascendancy on the scoreboard with a one point lead. However, the last term performance from Rowville proved the difference with nine goals to four to ensure the four goal victory.

Croydon North MLOC thumped Vermont Eagles 52-14. The match was over at half time with Croydon North MLOC’s lead 32 goals, thanks to Paris Saunders (32 goals). They kept up their strong attack in the second half scoring 24 goals to the Eagles nine to run out eventual 38 point victors.

2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Division 4

Norwood Gold earned a tough win over Scoresby Soarers 26-25. Scoresby Soarers led at every change in the first three quarters, but Norwood Gold flew out of the blocks in the final term with eight goals to four to get the nice come from behind one goal victory. Norwood Gold’s Kate Teijeiro was the star for her side with 20 goals.

Meanwhile, in another close one in Division 4 Boronia Brown outlasted Knox Red 26-24. The win was attributed to the forward performance of Samantha Mellis (18 goals).

Park Orchards Black proved a class above Kilsyth Cougars Black triumphing to a massive 33 goals victory. Black came out hard in the first quarter with 12-3 and did not look back, as they continued their dominance scoring 35 of the next eleven goals to win. Madison Hume (34 goals) made her presence felt up forward.

South Croydon Purple were winners over Lilydale Blue 34-27. Scores were tied between the two sides at 7-7 at quarter time, but the second quarter onwards Purple lifted their intensity outscoring Blue in every term. Purple eventually ran out victors by seven goals. Caitlin Hoskin was the pick of the scorers with 23 goals.

A seven goal victory to Mitcham Yellow helps to overcome The Basin Green. Forward duo for Mitcham Yellow, Georgia Fairbairn (18 goals) and Annalies Oppawsky (16 goals) proved the difference.

Heathmont Blue defeated Upper Ferntree Gully Red 28-21. Upper Ferntree Gully Red led for the first two quarters, but Heathmont were a different team in the second half levelling the scores up at 18-18 at three quarter time and a spirited final quarter steered them to the tough come from behind seven goal win. Haley Melenhorst and Renee Christiansen both scored 14 goals each for Heathmont Blue.

Coldstream White secured victory over Montrose Flames 35-25 . Montrose Flames only led at the first change but from then onwards it was all Coldstream White steered by Sarah Billingham (21 goals), they were the superior team eventually pulling off the 10 goal win.

2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Division 5

South Belgrave Black outlasted Mitcham Black in a 20-15 win. South Belgrave Black’s Caitlin Cook scored 11 goals and fellow forward Keely Brown combined well with Cook with nine goals.

Wantirna South Green proved too solid for Norwood defeating them 35-26. Despite losing by nine goals, a highlight for Norwood Woodettes was Holly Kruse (19 goals).

Nunawading Lions Maya Kolevich (15 goals) and Melanie Van Zuyden (11 goals) were huge in their sides six goal victory, while Molly O’Toole (14 goals) and Tamara Dobinson (13 goals) willed South Croydon Blue over the line by two goals in their clash against Forest Hill Zebras.

Ringwood Black brushed aside Coldstream Blue winning 37-29. Black led at every interval with Coldstream Blue storming back into the contest in third quarter 13-7 and were down by seven goals at three quarter time. Abbey Jordanov (19 goals) and Michelle Hawker proved to be the difference in the eight goal victory, combining with 31 goals.

Meanwhile, Glen Waverley White completely outclassed Waverley Blues to the tune of 49 goals, 60-11. It was dominant from Glen Waverley White, as they scored 60 goals and kept their opponents to measly 11 goals. The powerful scoring was thanks to Katerina Davey (34 goals) and Brodie Capron (21 goals), they combined with 55 goals.

2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Division 6

Balwyn Tigers continued their strong form this season thrashing Ferntree Gully Blue, 47-22. The massive goal scoring was attributed to prolific goal scorer Olivia Clear who finished with 34 goals for the match steering her side to a comprehensive 25 goal victory.

Glen Waverley Hawks Yellow thumped Ringwood White 38-17. The combination of Hannah Jeffris (21 goals) and Adelle Mazzarella (17 goals) proved to be a handful for Ringwood White defenders.

South Belgrave Red were challenged by Knox White on their way to victory 23-16. Knox White could not stop the forward trio of South Belgrave Red led by Renee Rollings (10 goals), Cara Moody (7 goals) and Taylah Murphy (6 goals) starred in the seven goal win.

After a level pegging first term Wantirna South White gained ascendancy on the scoreboard cruising to a 30-19 win over Mulgrave Blue. Michelle Morse (15 goals) and Jessica Hall (10 goals) were influential in their sides 11 goal victory.

Meanwhile, Coldstream Black’s Shannon Maile (18 goals) caused headaches for the Montrose Devils defenders steering her side to a 38-28 win.

2019 Bendigo Bank Netball EFL Division 7

A strong Lilydale Yellow were winners over Coldstream Red, 20-7. It was a combined effort from all the Lilydale Yellow forwards with Jaimii Young leading the way with 12 goals to ensure her side were winners by 13 goals.

Glen Waverley Black demolished Ferntree Gully White by a whopping 33 goals, 41-8. The monster performance was courtesy of Pia Walker (26 goals) and Emily Armstrong (15 goals). Glen Waverley Black’s defensive work was huge, as they kept Ferntree Gully White to an impressive eight goals for the whole match.

Norwood White cruised past The Basin Bears in a 36-12 victory. The Basin Bears could not get any goal scoring momentum in the match only managing 12 goals. Also their defence had their hands full with Norwood White’s Caitlin Conway (20 goals) and Michelle Keppler (16 goals) proving too much in the 24 goal comfortable win.
