AIS ADDS RANGES’ PETRACCA

EASTERN Ranges forward Christian Petracca has been added to the second tier of the AIS/AFL Academy scholarship program for 2014.

Petracca’s addition to the program comes after a tremendous 2013 campaign, including an impressive finals campaign where he booted 11 goals in five games.

In 2013, the talented key forward represented Vic Metro in the Under 18 National Championships. He also finished equal-second in the Ranges’ Best & Fairest count, kicked more goals than any other Ranges player and played a vital role in his side’s premiership victory.

He was also the captain of Whitefriars College, which played in the MCC Herald Sun Shield Grand Final at the MCG in August.

Petracca is a powerfully built forward who uses his strength and marking ability to great advantage.

Members of the Level 2 AIS/AFL Academy program will be afforded some wonderful development opportunities in 2014. This year’s crop travelled to Europe and spent time training with AFL clubs and learning the standards expected at the elite level.
