AFL VIC COMMUNITY AWARDS

More than 500 people from across Victoria packed into the Pennisula Docklands on Friday Night for the AFL Victoria Community Awards, recognizing coaches, volunteers and umpires and their contribution to our game.

The Eastern Region claimed two awards both going to extremely deserving winners;

AFL Victoria State Volunteer of the Year Award – Metro – Kathryn Callaway (Rowville FC)

A long standing volunteer of the Rowville Football Club, Kathy Callaway was recognised for the tireless work she puts into assisting the Hawks. No one at Seebeck is in doubt of the work that Kathy puts in, you only have to read the kind words on the clubs Facebook page following her award on Friday night.

This wasn’t any ordinary award. Kath pipped hundreds of entrants to pull off the major award of the night by winning the prestigious title of Victoria State Metro Volunteer of the Year.

We are blessed to have some of the most committed and passionate volunteers at our Club. We’re confident there’s not a single member who wouldn’t have benefited from Kath’s contributions over the past decade or more!

Heartfelt congratulations and thanks Kath for you dedication. Our club is stronger from your efforts!

Volunteering can be rewarding in so many ways. From the friendships you make along the way to the satisfaction gained from making a difference.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, then we’d love to hear from you. All contributions, no matter how small, are appreciated, none more so than Kaths.

Please join us by putting your hands together and congratulating Kath.

Congratulations not only to those who were nominated or won awards on Friday night but to the 1000’s of volunteers who make our game what it is!
