9 DAYS – LYSTERFIELD

2014 EFL Pre-Season Wiki | Tomorrow: Wantirna South

LYSTERFIELD Junior Football Club president Steve Ketzer speaks to Tim Morgan as his club prepares for the 2014 season.

Tim Morgan: Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2013?

Steve Ketzer: Last year was a huge success both on and off the field. The club is a growing club, we have grown from three teams to eight teams in the past three years and we are continuing to grow.

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2014?

Ten teams, with two Under 8 sides, two Under 9 sides and a team in every age group up to under 15’s.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

Really strong, really strong numbers and the teams are looking forward to kicking the season off.

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?

I don’t like picking one team over another, but If each team participates to the best of their ability that is a success. If they do that, I’m sure a number of them can go deep into finals.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

Under 8’s and Under 10’s
