2014 EFL Pre-Season Wiki | Tomorrow: Glen Waverley Rovers
EAST Burwood Junior Football Club president Ray Kimber speaks to Nick Brown as his club prepares for the 2014 season.
Nick Brown: Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2013?
Ray Kimber: Yes, we had three teams play finals, so we were very satisfied.
Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2014?
We will be looking to field nine sides.
What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?
It has been very positive and very enthusiastic. Everyone is keen and raring to go.
If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?
It would be the Under 13’s, I’d say. That group won the Under 11’s [in 2012] then finished runners-up last year.
Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?
We are looking for mainly more Under 12’s and more Under 17’s.
If any players are interested in playing for XX Junior Football Club this season, what do they have to do?
All the contact details are on the East Burwood website. We are very open to new players.
