24 DAYS – NOBLE PARK U17’S

2014 EFL Pre-Season Wiki | Tomorrow: Blackburn

NOBLE Park entered an Under 17’s side into the junior EFL competition for the first time in 2013 – and it will happen again in 2014.

Bulls junior president Trish Marsden speaks to Damian Watson as the team prepares for the season.

Damian Watson: After just one season in the competition, how pleased was the club with last year’s results?

Trish Marsden: We were pleased across the board to have all four sides in the finals – especially the 17’s first season in.

Do you feel this year’s Under 17’s side can be as competitive as last year’s side?

Yes I do, if not slightly stronger. We’ve actually been able to gain some boys who have played Division 1 from other clubs, so that brings a little bit more competitiveness to the side.

What has the feeling been like around the side over the pre-season?

A really strong and positive feeling for this side, we’ve had really good numbers at training sessions and have had fun. They’re very excited.

How short is the side in terms of numbers as we approach the start of the season?

We never turn our back on anyone who wants to come and play. I wouldn’t say we are short in numbers, but we are always looking to give kids an opportunity.

If any players are interested in playing for the Noble Park Under 17A1 side this season, what do they have to do?

They are more than welcome to contact the club and we’ll steer you in the right direction. We’ve got the potential and extra coaches so if we need to create another side it wouldn’t be an issue.

Also, the whole junior club is turning 50 this year! How will you be celebrating?

We are having

a big gala dinner in early May so we are really looking forward to that. Later in the season we will be doing something for all the players so they get to celebrate the year as well. We’re looking forward to a positive season, starting off with the big gala dinner and having a few smaller functions throughout the year. Hopefully we can also achieve success on the playing field.
